Passwords, a tool developed by Jonathan Clark from CodeInventors, will help you manage your login credentials (username and password), auto-complete fields with your credentials, open websites, generate passwords, and securely store passwords and other confidential information.

The password manager is available for Microsoft’s Windows operating system and for Apple’s Mac OS X. Putting the spotlight on Windows, I have to say that installing Passwords is an effortless task: download an archive, run the executable inside, click through the instructions presented by a setup wizard.

On the left hand side of the application’s interface you will see a list of categories (a list of folders). Select a category/folder and you will be presented with a list of passwords. At the top of the interface you will see a toolbar with buttons for creating new categories and new passwords. Overall, the interface’s simple layout will not pose any problems.

Passwords provides all the functionality you would expect to get from a password manager. And more to the point, here’s what the application has to offer: create and manage categories and passwords; set a master password; generate passwords; back up and restore databases; set auto-complete commands; launch files; open URLs; mark passwords as favorites.
